Porphyry is a term that is used for igneous rocks which contain visible crystals set in a fine-grained matrix.
Marshmallow stone contain crystals of feldspar that have been replaced by pinkish clinozoisite in dolerite.
The last 3 photos show the process we use to cut and polish slabs.
The front is polished and the back is left rough.
All photos are taken with the rock dry.
